Our Mission.

In the aftermath of the devastating fires in Los Angeles, many families have lost their homes and livelihoods. Our mission is to provide relief and support to these affected individuals and families. By purchasing an LA Strong Bracelet', you are contributing to the rebuilding efforts and bringing hope into their lives. Together, we can make a difference and support the community in need.

Our story is we are born & raised in Los Angeles California. We lived there for over 40 years and today live Sugarland Texas. We have been devastated to hear so many of our friends from back home lost their homes to the Palisades or Eaton Fires. We feel helpless being so far from Los Angeles and watching so many videos on social media of the aftermath has been heartbreaking with our days filled with sadness.

Living in Texas now and being so far from our home town is overwhelming during this horrible time in Angeles. The distance doesn't prevent us from helping in some way so we decided to try out best to help families that lost it all! My wife Alex Balgood has been working on launching a Non-Profit called "Water Roots" which helps bring awareness of how important water is in our communities. We all need water to fight fires in our communities, we need clean water to drink, we need water without harmful chemicals as you bathe, we need water in our rivers clean, we need chemical companies to clean any rivers they pollute, and need a clean ocean of water.

We will be taking pre-sale order of our "LA STRONG" bracelets where proceeds will go to families that have lost their homes. All bracelets will begin shipping in the beginning of February 2025.  In addition, we have created a donate direct page with links to families that friends sent over our way to add to this page because of their personal connection to the family.

Please read a little about the family's story and donate to the family directly. Please also Pre-order a bracelet as proceeds will go to help families as these next couple years will be the hardest as each family tried to rebuild their home. If you are a small or large business please consider Pre-ordering a bracelet for your employees to show that you stand with the families who have lost it all.  In the months to come we will share videos as proceeds come in we will share videos of the family's you have all helped with your contribution of a LA Strong Bracelet.

Support the Lopez Family After House Fire

My name is Hunter and I’m trying to raise money for the Lopez family- Miguel, Gaiane, and their two children (ages 1 and 3). Their house was recently burned to the ground during the Altadena fire. They were told to evacuate urgently when the fire started a few blocks away from their house and didn’t have a chance to pack anything. Luckily they are ok, however they lost everything. I’m asking you to donate anything you can—even something as small as $10 would make a difference in their lives. They are both nurses who have dedicated their lives to helping others, and now we can help them in return. Thank you for your time.

Help Kristin Rebuild After Eaton Fire Loss

I'm Lucy of @goatandmoon and I am starting this GoFundMe for Kristin Dwan of The Healing Woods. I have known Kristin for close to 20 years. She is a beautiful soul and I consider her a sister.

Kristin lost her home in the Eaton Fire in Altadena yesterday. She was able to evacuate with a few items and her two beloved cats. For those of you who don't know Kristin, this isn't the first time she has lost everything she owned due to a fire. In 1998, she escaped a house fire resulting in third-degree burns over 30% of her body. You can read her story here:  https://www.thehealingwoods.com/my-story

I’m sending this message from an emergency shelter. I’ve been out of my home since Tuesday morning. I am wearing the same clothes and I haven’t shaved or showered since Tuesday. I will post my Venmo and PayPal any kind contributions you can make will be appreciated. Update: I will move out of the shelter in about two hours. I will pick up a few items, a travel charger a travel shaver, shirt, shorts, joggers and items I can’t think of at the moment. I will stay 30 days at the Marriott in the Marina del Rey. During which time I must find out longer term housing solution. I have many leads so I think it will work out. I’m fatigued at the moment because they’ve been many sleepless nights here. I want to thank everyone for the generous contribution. I am amazed, just amazed thank you I really appreciate everything.

Join Us in Helping Maryam Recover From the Eaton Fire

We are reaching out on behalf of one of our best friends of almost 30 years, Maryam, who has been profoundly impacted by the Eaton fire in Altadena. As a dedicated high school teacher in Altadena, Maryam has always been a pillar of support for students and families. Now, she needs our help. The fire completely destroyed her home, taking with it nearly all her belongings. Thankfully, Maryam managed to escape with her phone, computer, and dog, Coco Rose. While she feels fortunate to have her safety, the challenge of finding housing near her school and community is immense. Any support you can offer—big or small—will make a huge difference in helping Maryam get back on her feet. Your kindness will provide her with the resources she needs to find a new place to live and replace the basics that were destroyed, including clothes, furniture, and other essentials.

Thank you for standing by Maryam during this difficult time.

For Gerhan and His Mom: Let’s Help Them Rebuild

Help the Sanders-Wooten Family

My good friend Gerhan "G" Buggs and his mom just lost their home in the devastating wildfires in Southern California. I work with G as the Key Grip on The Upshaws, and if you’ve had the pleasure of working with him, you know he’s the kind of person who lights up a set with his positivity and kindness. G lived in Altadena with his mother, whom he lovingly takes care of. On the night of the fire, G’s first priority was making sure his loved ones were safe. He got his mom to safety and made sure his elderly neighbor was also taken care of—urging him to get dressed and promising to come back for him. G kept his promise, returning to pick up his neighbor after securing his mom at a friend’s house outside the evacuation zone.

My mother Shari lost our family home of 35 years in the Eaton Canyon Altadena fire. Our home was a place of countless family gatherings where everyone was welcome! My brothers and I, Gerry and Henry grew up there, then subsequently my nephews and nieces who celebrated almost every birthday and spent countless nights. We lost our father at a young age and all his tools and sentimental items passed down to us were burned in the fire including my car. Our neighborhood was a community where all our neighbors watched out for each other. We never imagined we would not return to our home that night and only grabbed a few items and important papers.

Support Darryl Moore's Family After Fire

I’d sincerely like to thank my brother bishop Henry Joseph for setting up this GoFundMe page. Maximum gratitude to all that have chipped in and help me and my family during this very difficult time. And I greatly appreciate all the calls and text messages I’ve received. It really helped lift my spirits to hear your words of encouragement and receive your prayers and blessings. I’ve just learned as we’ve been going through the process of dealing with our home loss. Even though my home was insured I still have to pay my mortgage on time. And your property taxes too. While still paying rent in a new place. And buying all the things everyone needs for a home. And somehow working. This is why the banks always win. They’re still gonna get their money and if you default they’ll take your property and build another house and sell it for even more money.

Help Eric Rebuild After Palisades Wildfire Loss at 93

My name is Ryan Abourisk, and I am Eric’s grandson. I live in Los Angeles near by and have been spending as much time as possible to support him during this tragic time. On the heels of his 93rd birthday, my grandfather’s life was turned upside down by the Pacific Palisades wildfires. The home he bought in 1963 with his late wife, Rose—who passed away in 2022—was completely destroyed. All that he built with her, every memory, every cherished item, has been reduced to ashes.
We are grateful for any contribution, no matter the size. Your generosity will help Eric get back on his feet and start rebuilding his life after this unimaginable loss. We will use the funds to find a new place for him to stay, purchase new clothes, food, cover food and medical bills among many other things while he figures out what his plan is moving forward.

Help the Puga family after the Eaton Fire

My name is Ally Puga and I am raising money for my family. We are saddened to announce that our Puga family: Jerry Puga, Kelly Puga, AJ Puga, Ally Puga, and Sam Smiley, lost our home to the Eaton fire Wednesday, 1/8/25, in Los Angeles. We didn’t have time to pack up belongings as the fire spread so quickly in the middle of the night. Our family was able to grab their pets and fled as we assisted neighbors in escaping the fire. Our Puga family has given back to the Los Angeles community in so many ways. Three members of the family: Jerry, AJ, and Sam are all part of the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD). Jerry has been a firefighter for the last 20 years and AJ and Sam recently joined LAFD. Ally (me) is a speech pathologist working with children in need at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) and Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) and Kelly has worked for LACERA, a retirement agency in Pasadena for the past 25 years.
